Stoeterij Bommelsteyn, in collaboration with the Joure Horse Auction Foundation, has since 1982, held the internationally-renowned annual Friesian Horse Auction on the 4th Thursday of the month of September. At this auction some sixty horses are brought under the hammer.
The collection is made up of foals, yearlings, two- and three-year-olds and older horses. Many horses sold during these “Joustermerke” auctions have gone on to become keur champions and even include a number of approved stallions.

This auction can be considered the price-setter for the market in Friesian horses.
In addition to the auction, Stoeterij Bommelsteyn holds an auction of utility horses of the Friesian breed each year in the month of April.
Horses can be singed up for auctions via the ‘auctions’ link.
